Ready for change
During the pandemic, Pepe lost four siblings and became responsible for supporting a large extended family. The weight of that loss contributed to homelessness, and diabetes later resulted in the loss of a leg.
Metro Relief met Pepe in Plano in early 2025, helped him obtain vital documents, and supported his placement on the housing list.
When housed, Pepe hopes to become a bilingual 911 operator and give back to the community that has looked out for him.
