People in his corner
JR came to Dallas after years of methamphetamine addiction and spent about six months on the street. A Metro Relief staff member repeatedly spoke with him during outreach and eventually invited him to lunch.
That relationship connected JR to housing, work, recovery, and faith. After a later relapse, the same relationship helped him reach rehabilitation and return to a supportive environment.
JR now imagines college, a career, a family, and growing old—possibilities that once felt unavailable.
